The famous home to the Loch Ness Monster, Loch Ness is the largest loch in Scotland at 22.5 miles long. It holds more water than all of inland England and Wales, with parts deeper than the North Sea.

You can catch a boat from Inverness to the end of Loch Ness at Fort Augustus and you can also drive alongside the Loch with Urquhart Castle to view along the way.

Great Glen Way
Great Glen Way

The Great Glen Way covers a total of 73 miles and it starts in Fort William and ends in Inverness.  It usually takes walkers around five days to complete this walk and the path is signposted along the route by the Great Glen way thistle logo. 

It was only opened in 2002 but it has quickly become on of the most popular walks in Scotland.
